My book ‘1975… Connecting the Dots’ relays my personal journey of living and working in Dubai for the past 15 years. A book filled with behind the scenes stories, key lessons, unexpected opportunities and powerful imagery.
I left the corporate world in 2007 to find my place in the creative industry and hope this book will encourage and inspire others to follow suit. As many know from the musings on my blog, its been a fantastic journey, growing, learning and experiencing so much along the way.
Why now? A few years ago, I picked up two striking books… a biography about Linda McCartney’s life and an anniversary book by world-renowned photographer, Annie Leibovitz. Both told a very personal story about their photographic careers and both planted a seed then and there. Ever since, I’ve been asking myself when the right time to write my book would be. I guess the time is never right… which means, now is the best time to share.
I want people to read my book and find the courage and confidence to follow their dreams. I want my stories to inspire others to take that bold step. I want to share how the creative industry has worked for me and how you just need to trust the system and the people around you. I truly believe that nothing beats following your passion. We’re on this planet for such a short time so if you don’t make the moments really count, what’s the point?
We’re playing with design. Pushing the bar on print production. If anything we’ll setlle on awesome. Nothing less. Ranging between 120-160 pages filled with stories, lots of them. A RAW book that will land on the table with a big BANG. Impact!
Funding will have a say how far we can push it. Be part of the 1975 project by showing your support. Individual support is awesome and can be done thru my crowdfunding page starting from US$45 . The concept will certanily fit selected brands, email me to receive the sponsorship proposal.
It’s full steam ahead to have book printed and ready for my 10 years annisary in April 2017. So we have a deadline.
